My Summer movie picks (There may be a reason to go to the movies this Summer afterall)

So far the box office Summer season has started out as a bust rather than a blast. They're have been some alright movies (Iron Man 2... MacGruber), but everything seems to just be falling short thus far. However, after further review, I have come across some movies that just may make you want to pay that outrageous ticket price ($10 a ticket!) again. So, check out the movies that are inticing back into the air conditioned theater on the hot and balmy city days. Hopefully they will encourage you to head back to the movies as well.

First up, Inception release date: July 16th with director Chris Nolan of the new Batman movies and starring Leo DiCaprio and the return of Ellen Page to the big screen.

Next up, Beastly, a real life portrayal of Beauty and the Beast, starring up and comer Alex Pettyfer with Vanessa Hudgens and a surprising appearance from the one and only NPH (if you don't know who that is just stop reading!) release date: July 30th

And finally, Eat, Pray, Love I am confident Julia Roberts performance won't dissapoint in this true events story that will hopefully be deemed Erin Brockovich worthy. Release date: August 13th

A Blast from the Past!

If you're like me and grew up during the 90's waiting in anticipation for Nickelodeon to play your favorite shows like "Are you Afraid of the Dark?", "Salute Your Shorts", "Hey Dude" , "Guts" or "Wild and Crazy Kids" than you're gonna love this!  Recently the website Top Cultured has posted articles on what the cast of "Salute your Shorts" and "Hey Dude" are up to now.

The Peace Project

I love any opportunity to support local talent, so I jumped at the chance to spread the word about the Peace Project!  This Pittsburgh talent really knows what direction they are headed in and you can hear it in their soulful sound.  It is no wonder they will be dropping an EP this Summer as well as playing the Three Rivers Arts Festival June 5.  Check them out here!  Also, take note of the photo.  I had a chance to work with Peace recently to get some promotional shots for her upcoming show!

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for....Scream 4?!

Yes, it is true folks.  It is not the late 90's however a new Scream movie will be coming to theaters as soon as next year.  I am truly ecstatic that I will once again be able to go and see one of my favorite horror flicks in the theater again!  What is so gerat about the cream franchise is that it cleverly utilizes what it's got.  Great acting and acknowledging what it is (cheesy) and does not try to be more than that.  The fact that I can laugh and be scared at the same time is fantastic.  The return of Neve Campbell as Sydney Prescott and Courtney Cox-Arquette as Gale Weathers which are brilliantly written, head strong female roles and David Arquette as quirky Deputy Dewey is almost as highly anticipated as the return of the genius Wes Craven to the big screen.  Hope the rest of you are getting nostalgic for the final chapter of this epic saga.

The Twilight saga has finally sucked me in; as well as my integrity

Like most things in my life; Facebook, Pop music and Romantic Comedies I try as long as I can to avoid them but then the inevitable happens...I give in and indulge in what most people consider irrelevant parts of life. So as much as I hate to admit this, I have finally fallen heads over heals for the Twilight saga. I caught the first for free on TV and then came to the conclusion that I must see New Moon much to the dismay of those around me. Although I have not had the opportunity to watch it, I'm sure that New Moon won't disappoint! Unfortunately, with the upcoming release of Eclipse I am now on a time limit to indulge in my Twilight cheesiness(this stuff is just as bad as Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby)one is not enough, I must have more!
